If you want to try your hand at planning a garden, even a small one – let’s remember about 3 important rules that will make everything in its place.
Rule 1
The garden should be arranged so as to ensure rest for all family members. For some, the most important thing is to create a meeting place with friends, for others – it is important to grow vegetables and herbs, so you should create a vegetable garden with flower beds.
Rule 2
To make a conceptual sketch, you can use a geodetic foundation with marked world directions, slopes, installations. In addition, trees and shrubs (remaining in the garden) and larger objects adjacent to the plot are applied to it, which may affect, for example, its shade or nature.
Rule 3
The garden and body of the house should harmonize with the surroundings (the wicker fence perfectly blends the rural garden into the landscape, but in a large city is controversial). In a small garden, simplicity of composition and attention to details matter.
A small garden will seem larger if plants with grayish foliage are in the background (in large, plants are planted in loose groups and thanks to the naturalness of the composition, you do not need to take care of the details). Before we determine the exact location of the gazebo, rebate or pavement, let’s divide the space into zones with different functions (representative – in front of the house, leisure – behind the house, usable – with a vegetable garden, economic – e.g. with a woodshed). When choosing vegetation, consider the soil type and groundwater level.
